Mingoa's semiconductor IP provides high performance hardware ideally suited for deployment in low cost NIDs where
the main function is to probe the network.
It provides demarcation between customers’ and carrier networks, and at hand off points between
carrier networks. It monitors the network without degrading the background data flow, and
provides real time visibility into the operation and performance of the network.
It monitors Ethernet performance against agreed Service Level
Agreements (SLAs) to five-nines degree of accuracy. It measures Frame Loss, Frame Delay and Frame
Delay Variation using ITU Y.1731 standardised messaging. In addition, it can detect and isolate
faults using 802.1ag CCM and Loopback messaging.
Performance Monitoring using hardware time-stamping and in-line packet counters gives accurate measurements of Frame Loss, Frame Delay and Frame Delay Variation. This achieves five-nines level of accuracy that is not easily guaranteed with software based solutions.
Hardware based OAM supports the detection of faults on multiple services (EVC) in 11.5ms using 3.3ms messaging rates. This enables switchover to backup services within the 50ms standard set by SONET. This performance is beyond the capability of most cost effective software solutions.
